Windows To Our Watershed (WOW)

The Program

WOW offers two program components that provide flexible learning opportunities to third through sixth graders.

• On-site Explorations targets school sites that have a stream, creek or pond within walking distance. This will help teachers take advantage of local ongoing learning opportunities.
• Off-site Explorations are conducted at a slough or wetland near the school.

Both programs introduce students to marine and freshwater communities and provide direction for watershed stewardship through hands-on learning.

The Curriculum

The activities chosen as well as the type of field study are especially geared to individual grade levels. All activities are correlated to meet the California State Science Standards.

The Cost

On-site Exploration: $75 for class of 1.5 hours

Off-site Exploration: $100 for class of 2.5 hours
