Mann Voted President
Of County Education Board
SAN JOSE, CA – At its meeting on Wednesday, the Santa Clara County Board
of Education named its officers for 2009. Craig Mann, who was elected to
the board in 2006, was voted president, and Anna Song was voted vice-president.
The vote followed the induction ceremony for four board members. Joseph Di
Salvo was elected to the board in November. Others inducted were Leon Beauchman,
Grace H. Mah and Anna Song, all of whom were re-elected in November. T.N. Ho and
outgoing President Jane Howard make up the rest of the board.
Craig Mann is a teacher in the Ravenswood School District. The board
vice-president in 2008, he has served on the board’s Policy Development
Subcommittee and the Budget Study and Joint Legislative Advisory Committees.
Anna Song, who first was elected to the board in 2000, has experience in
counseling, youth education, domestic violence intervention and fair housing
enforcement. She has served on numerous board committees and initiatives, and
previously was board president.
