  • Verification Process for Special Settings (VPSS)

    VPSS FlyerVPSS is a state approved advanced certification process by which secondary teachers in special settings have an additional option to become compliant with No Child Left Behind legislation. Completion of VPSS will allow eligible teachers to become Highly Qualified without taking high stress tests or spending long hours on college coursework. It incorporates specific subject matter knowledge with practical application targeted to hard to staff settings.   • SB 472

    The Santa Clara County Office of Education (SCCOE) is authorized to provide SB 472 Mathematics Institutes in the State-Board Approved Instructional Programs. SCCOE offers local SB 472 math institutes, and can provide local training in your district. SCCOE is also a state-approved SB 472 provider for McDougal Littell CA Math Course 1, 2, and Algebra 1 Program Materials.

  • Early Assessment Program (EAP)

    The Professional Development consists of

    EAP Flyer

    • Approximately 16-24 hours of training broken into small modules that can be delivered in an all-day or half-day format, or in shorter segments over time with teacher practice between sessions
    • Materials and training for teachers of Algebra I through Precalculus
    • A bank of standards-based and curriculum-related problems for use in classrooms
    • A bank of sample lesson plans that highlights the instructional strategies and mathematics content of the modules
